Visa and Passport Return
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Your visa application may be subject to an administrative procedure, which could last several weeks. Therefore, we recommend not making travel plans until you have received your visaed passport. Applicants who have been approved for visa issuance will receive their passports and immigrant visa packets returned via DHL courier services. For applicants living in Lima, DHL will generally return your visa’ed passport to approved applicants within 4 days AFTER DHL HAS RECEIVED these passports from the Embassy. For areas outside of Lima, the return time is 5 days after DHL receives the visa’ed passport. Applicants should allow at least 4 business days after the interview for any travel. Effective October 1, 2009, the DHL delivery fee for the return of an applicant's passport within Lima is S/.20.00 and S/.28.00 for the return of a passport outside of Lima. Please note that this fee applies to each passport being sent via DHL. The DHL service is required for the return of all passports. Updated: November 6, 2009
