Visa and Passport Return

Non-immigrant Visa Applicants

Approved visas will be returned to the DHL courier service location that the applicant designated when they scheduled their interview appointment via the U.S. Visa Service.  All information regarding the return of visas can be found on the Passport Delivery Information section of the U.S. Visa Service website.  There is no additional cost for this service.

Immigrant Visa Applicants

As of 23 September 2011, all immigrant visa applicants with interview appointments scheduled after this date must register via the U.S. Visa Service to arrange the return of their passport and visa via DHL.  All applicants with appointments or visas approved prior to this date are not required to register with the U.S. Visa Service.

Further Information and Questions

Questions regarding the status of your application and tracking of your passport should be directed to the U.S. Visa Service by logging in to the U.S. Visa Service website with the account information used to schedule your interview appointment.

We always recommend that individuals apply for visas well in advance of their proposed date of travel. No assurances regarding the issuance of visas can be given in advance. Therefore, final travel plans or the purchase of non-refundable tickets should not be made until a visa has been issued and you have received your passport via DHL.  Please note that some cases may require additional administrative processing that adds to the time required to process your visa application.
