Non-Immigrant Visas
For information regarding visa categories and how to schedule an appointment, including requests for expedited appointments, please contact the U.S. Visa Service.
Before emailing the Consular Section, please review the U.S. Embassy Lima website as well as the Frequently Asked Questions. Please remember, there is no appeal or reconsideration process for visa refusals. However, visa applicants may reapply at any time and a different Consular Officer will determine their eligibility for a visa.
For information regarding the status of your application and visa denials, please email the Consular Section at LimaNIV@state.gov. Please include your full name and, if applicable, the full name of the applicant and your relationship to the applicant. If you are reporting a lost or stolen passport with a U.S. visa, please include the name of the passport holder (as it appears on the biographical page of his or her passport) as well as the passport number. Upon emailing us, you will receive an automatic reply. We aim to answer questions not addressed by our automatic reply within 2 business days.
Immigrant Visas
Prior to emailing U.S. Embassy Lima, immigrant visa applicants should check to see if their case has arrived from the National Visa Center (NVC). After the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) approves an immigrant visa petition, it sends the case to the National Visa Center for processing. The National Visa Center will only send cases to the U.S. Embassy in Lima with current priority dates. To check if your priority date is current, please review the monthly visa bulletin or contact the National Visa Center.
If the answer to your question cannot be found on our website, immigrant visa petitioners and applicants with questions may email us at LimaIV@state.gov. Please include your full name and, if applicable, the full name of the applicant and your relationship to the applicant, as well as the immigrant visa case number beginning with "LMA". Immigrant visa petitioners and applicants may also call the Embassy at +51-618-2000 between 2:00pm and 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, to speak with a consular employee about the status of their case.
