Information Resource Center

The Information Resource Center (IRC) at the United States Embassy in Lima, Peru, is dedicated to providing electronic resources and information to diverse audiences in order to strengthen U.S. – Peru bilateral relations and to promote a better understanding of U.S. society, values and policies. Our main focus is in the following areas:

  • Virtual seminars and online programming:  As part of our educational and cultural programming, we produce free online seminars – called webinars – on various topics. These topics include methodology for English teachers, trade and exportation, business and entrepreneurship, and science and the environment, among others. To find out how to receive more information about our upcoming digital programs and how to attend them, please visit this site. You can also visit our archive on YouTube to view previous seminar recordings.

  • Virtual libraries and research support:  The IRC grants access to millions of scholarly journals, publications and other multi-media content through eLibraryUSA, the Department of State’s virtual library database. One way for individuals to fully access this content, which includes databases like Gale, CQ, eBrary and Encyclopedia Britannica, is to visit a Binational Center library (Institutos y Centros Culturales Peruano Norteamericanos) or request a username and password to the IRC. For more information on eLibraryUSA, please visit this site

  • Library and cultural center support: The IRC works directly with Binational Centers through their libraries and media centers in order to provide relevant content to students, educators and general audiences. The IRC also works with other partner institutions to develop libraries and community centers to broaden access to educational resources and information technology.
