Cultural Patrimony Protection
The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the American Embassy works in coordination with Peruvian institutions to protect and promote Peru’s cultural patrimony. Under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding.
(MOU) for the protection of cultural patrimony, renewed until 2017 between our countries, PAS coordinates, produces and sponsors a series of activities, characterized by their multiplying effect in the population.
Among the most important activities is the return of objects from the cultural patrimony accounted for in the MOU, training courses for Peruvian museum personnel with U.S. specialists in various cities throughout the country, donations for conservation projects through the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation annual competition, and an internship program at Peruvian museums for U.S. graduate students.
