Do I Need to Appear in Person?

All applicants must appear in person for a visa interview with a Consular Officer, except for children under the age of 7 applying for a non-immigrant visa, in which case both parents or legal guardian must apply on that child's behalf. Legal guardians must present court documents proving legal custody at the time of the interview.

Applicants for H1B or L1 visas must submit their applications for review prior to a personal interview. Please see the H1B and L Instructions Information Page for further information.
