Red Ribbon Campaign

The Red Ribbon campaign was started in 1991 by a group of artists from New York, USA, to create a visual symbol of compassion for people living with HIV and their caregivers.

It is now a universal symbol. On December 1st, World AIDS Day, it is worn as a gesture of solidarity and commitment to a united response to HIV/AIDS.
